Our Classes
We serve elementary and middle school students in classes that range from hands-on science labs and high-energy PE, to music class and book clubs. Students can enjoy up to two class periods each week, with options designed to spark curiosity, build friendships, and support your homeschool goals.
Elementary PE
$140 per semester
PreK-1st grade: 1:30-2:25, taught by Coach Ellen
2nd-5th grade: 2:30-3:25, taught by Coach Ellen
PE is a REACH favorite and the class that started it all! Our emphasis is on teamwork, quality movement, and FUN! We play active games, build coordination, and learn new skills, all while putting into practice good sportsmanship. Our motto is: be fun to play with, be fun to play against!
2nd-5th Grade: STEM + Page Turners Book Club
$175 per semester
Page Turners Book Club: 1:30-2:25, taught by Dr. Lana Teko
STEM: 1:30-2:25, taught by Steph Campbell
Students will be grouped together with those of a similar age and will switch classes halfway through the semester.
Page Turners Book Club will get kids engaging with a variety of literature through hands-on projects, movement, competitions, and self expression. Students will make meaningful connections with literature, as well as each other in this “no boring book reports” book club!
In STEM, the goal is to become mad scientists, ask all the questions, leave no stone unturned, and GET MESSY! Students will learn concepts, design experiments, test, retest, and learn how to make sense of their discoveries!
Middle School Think Tank
$200 per semester
6th-8th grade: 1:30-3:25, taught by Amy Medford
How should a local, medieval government stave off the black plague? How should an entomologist assess the risk of West Nile virus or raise awareness without causing panic? Or, how can biologists successfully release captive-bred black footed ferrets into the wild to save this endangered species?
In REACH’s only two hour class, we're immersing our middle school students in real-world scientific and historical challenges using a problem-based learning approach. Each unit presents a complex issue that requires students to thoroughly investigate, analyze perspectives, experiment, and develop thoughtful solutions. As they work through each scenario, students build skills in research, critical thinking, and evidence-based reasoning while exploring topics in history and environmental science. Rather than simply studying the world around us and its past, students actively step into it, learning how scientific discoveries, choices (and their consequences!) shape the world.
$175 per semester
Music & Arts: 2:30-3:25, taught by Genevieve Hampton
Life Skills Lab: 2:30-3:25, taught by A’Dair de Rhodo
Students will be grouped together based on age, and will spend half of each semester in our Life Skills Lab and half of each semester in Music & Arts.
Life Skills Lab ain’t ya mama’s Home Ec class! We’re introducing young learners to everyday life skills in a FUN and engaging way! Students will get to explore basic gardening, practice beginner kitchen skills, learn how to sew, and practice foundational money concepts through real-life scenarios. Students will participate in a classroom “store,” where they can earn play money by completing projects and helping during class, then use their earnings to “purchase” materials and small extras.
Music & Arts will help students explore their creativity and learn the foundations of music, visual arts, and handicrafts. Using simple instruments like hand percussion, they’ll learn basic rhythm and music concepts while also experimenting with colors, shapes, and materials in art.
